About Us

Arizona Falun Dafa Association (AFDA) is a non-profit 501 c(3) public charity. Its members are volunteers who practice Falun Dafa (also known as Falun Gong). Falun Dafa is a peaceful, spiritual practice that follows the principles of truthfulness, benevolence, and forbearance. It is a practice that is popular around the world in nearly every major city and country.

AFDA organizes activities throughout the State of Arizona. These activities are designed to accomplish the following objectives:
  • To raise public awareness of the practice of Falun Dafa, a mind and body cultivation system guided by the 3 core principles of truthfulness, benevolence and forbearance and its 5 sets of gentle exercises and meditation,
  • To promote grassroots efforts aimed at ending the persecution of Falun Dafa practitioners in China that continues even today.

All activities are carried out by volunteers and are always free of charge to the public. Activities include:
  • Free weekly exercise demonstrations and teachings in Phoenix, Tempe, Scottsdale, Flagstaff, Tucson, Sierra Vista, Tuba City, and Chinle,
  • Participation in public displays such as parades, art exhibitions, and peaceful appeals to end the persecution of Falun Dafa practitioners in China.

Foundation for Traditional Culture (FTC) is a non-profit 501 c(3) charity promoting cross-cultural awareness in the State of Arizona.

The FTC’s most publicly visible activity is the promotion of the music and dance of Shen Yun Performing Arts. Shen Yun Performing Arts is a world-renowned classical Chinese dance company with the mission of restoring 5,000 years of traditional Chinese culture, much of which was lost during China’s “Great Cultural Revolution” in the 1960s.

In early 2008, the Foundation booked the Dodge Theater in downtown Phoenix for an inspiring Shen Yun performance that was well-received by a delighted audience from all walks of life. Due to the success of this show, the Foundation brought Shen Yun back to Phoenix in 2009 for three outstanding shows at the Arizona State University (ASU) Gammage Theater.
